AMRITSAR: The Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences successfully organized events on Anti-Ragging Day under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Karamjit Singh.
To mark the occasion, Prof. Kamlesh Guleria, Associate Dean Student Welfare, GNDU and Head Department of Human Genetics was invited as the Chief Guest. Prof. Rajinder Kaur, Head of the Department welcomed the guest and stressed upon the need of organizing Anti-Ragging Day. Prof. Guleria addressed the students not to involve in ragging activities as it leads to severe psychological consequences, pushing the victims to depression and anxiety. Prof. Satwinderjeet Kaur also addressed the students say no to ragging and drugs.
As part of the celebration, creative competitions on poster making and slogan writing were also organized to encourage the students to convey their views against ragging in innovative ways. The observance of Anti-Ragging Day reaffirmed the department’s unwavering commitment to promoting a campus culture based on respect, unity, and zero tolerance towards ragging. Dr. Mayank Dhar Dwivedi proposed a vote of thanks. Prof. Satwinderjeet Kaur, Prof. M.S. Bhatti, Prof. Jatinder Kaur, Dr. Kritika Pandit, Dr. Mehak Taneja, Students and Research Scholars attended the event.
